The penultimate past portrait!
There’s quite the story behind Jumbo’s portrait, it was a Christmas present for a man’s wife that – after a lot of back and forth – was eventually finished and printed on Christmas eve. Sadly being a very busy time for me, I was given a week to complete it which would have been fine except, unfortunately, the reference photographs I’d been given just showed a dog-shaped blur, or were too far away. After some frantic phonecalls and help from the man’s children, this portrait was completed in time.
It also remains the quickest portrait I’ve ever done, taking only 5 hours. I don’t think I want to do it again, it did quite some damage to my wrist, but I was very pleased to get it finished in time, made it worth it!
